Who am I?

Hello. My name is Sara Large. I am a student at The University of South Alabama. My major is elementary education and plan to begin teaching in 2010. I have one daughter. Her name is Caroline Elisabeth and between her and her father Nick I have everything I need to make me happy. I love to spend time with my family as well as playing soccer and being involved in my community. My life is very busy, but I couldn't picture my life any differently than it is. Thanks for viewing my blog and please come back and see me!

Parent Involvement

In my classroom I will encourage parent involvement. I feel ever parent should be kept up to date with how their child is doing. Each week I will make sure a folder is sent home. The grades recently received will be placed in the folder. There will be two copies. One will be for the parent to keep and to be signed and returned to me. As a mother I would want the same done for my daughter.

Parents being invovled in their child's schooling is very important. Parents know their children better than teachers do. Having parnets aware of what is going with their childs school work is the best way to go. Parnets can get though to their child better than teachers sometimes. Parnets need to know how their child is doing in school. If their child isn't doing well they may know of a way to get the infomation across to them in a way they can understand.
